Our music excellence program has been designed to provide musicians with the opportunities to further develop their musicianship in addition to music curriculum course work. The School of Rock aims to prepare students for the music industry by providing access to real-world performance environments.
Entry into this course is subject to a successful interview and/or audition where students need to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for music and some proficiency in either singing, playing an instrument, production, composition or operating live sound. Applicants will also need to show a high standard in attendance, academia, behaviour and effort.
Benefits of joining the School of Rock include:
- Specialist music training with industry professionals and trained teachers
- Instrumental, vocal and live sound production training
- Industry workshops, incursions, excursions and Writer's Retreat
Performance opportunities include:
- Battle of the Rock Bands competition
- Campfire Dreaming Restaurant
- School events
- Arts expo
- Community events
Year 11 and 12 music excellence students can also enrol in both our general and applied music senior courses which may lead to employment opportunities and further music study options.
