Loganlea SHS offers Star Programs to support students' passion and potential within a culture of excellence. The Agribusiness Star Program (“AgStars") is open to all students in years 7-12. The program develops students' ability to lead and succeed in agribusiness through practical experience, industry partnerships and independent projects. Students in the AgStars program play a vital role in the operation and maintenance of the school's farm, nursery and facilities, and in building the Agribusiness Star Program's reputation for excellence. AgStars become highly trained, trusted and informed assistants within the school's pig, poultry, sheep, goat, crop and cattle operations. Students also have the opportunity to develop their own special interest agricultural projects.
The Agribusiness Star Program serves to get students out of the classroom to immerse them in experiences that showcase the huge variety of opportunities the agriculture sector offers – in the fields, farms, laboratories, science, technology and business. AgStars is a diverse and inclusive team that fosters unique identity and character. Exclusive experiences include going on excursions, attending industry events, hosting guest speakers and representing Loganlea State High School at public events. Students maintain their eligibility for the program by consistently demonstrating high levels of effort in learning, attendance and conduct, and by excelling in Star program expectations.
