Legacy Wall 2023 - Donna Niblock.jpg

Donna is passionate about all students making connections that will prepare them for their transition into their lives beyond school. Initially working as a Teacher’s Aide in 1997, she was later successfully appointed to the position of Learning Engagement Centre (LEC) Transition Officer. Donna recognised that for students to succeed in the workplace, they needed hands-on experience to understand what employers were looking for. This led to the development of the OCD Café which has evolved into a fully operational coffee shop on the school site, providing students with foundational skills and confidence for work. The success of the OCD Café has provided funding for numerous opportunities for Loganlea State High School Students. Donna continued to innovate in the area of transition by developing a range of partnerships that enrich the learning of many students in the school. By ensuring that all students have transition opportunities on the same basis as their peers, Donna is a Loganlea Legend who will continue to positively impact on our school culture.

Legacy Wall 2023 - John Davis.jpg

Dr Johnathan Davis founded Knowledge House as an initiative to assist First Nations students to learn about themselves and their culture, and to assist the school in developing cultural fluency so we could work more effectively as a community in the interests of all of our students. John was passionate about improving the quality of teaching for the engagement of First Nations youths, as he saw there was a disconnect between the current system and Indigenous communities. Knowledge House became a way to bridge this gap, bringing school and the community together as partners in the education of our First Nations young people. To date, Knowledge House has supported hundreds of students at Loganlea and it is hard to imagine the school and community without this resource. John’s work continues to inform quality pedagogy and influence education.
