4 Year School Strategic Plan

Loganlea State High School, a co-educational year 8-12 high school was established in 1980. The suburb of Loganlea is located .in the City of Logan with an enrolment of
approximately 750. The school draws its enrolment from a range of feeder primary schools. Our feeder suburbs are diverse with a significant number of housing commission
residences mixed with privately owned and rental dwellings. The school has a long tradition of cultural diversity and in particular has significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait
Islander student enrolment. A strong indigenous support system is already established at the school.
The school has a Band 7 Hoses managing an SEP of approximately 80 students with verified disabilities. In addition there are significant numbers of students with learning
difficulties.
To date, student achievement in Literacy and Numeracy is significantly below National Minimum standards in all strands. Senior Exit data is concerning and student pathway
options are being examined and redrawn to ensure transition from school to work or higher education is more effectively facilitated. VET and SAT data is generally pleasing
however student achievement of QCE and OP 1-15 is significantly below acceptable standards.
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support was initiated in 2008 and will continue to provide data to drive whole school reform in behaviour management processes that foster a
safe, respectful and responsible learning environment for all.
Behaviour incidents have reduced since the introduction of School Wide Positive Behaviour Support however processes continue to be refined to further reduce incidence of
School Disciplinary Absences. Student attendance is averaged at 78% and requires targeting for improvement as an extremely high priority.
The school has recently engaged in the Triennial School Review process and this document has been considered in the development of this 4 year strategic plan.
