Signature Academic Program

Loganlea State High School takes great pride in delivering curriculum catering to the diverse needs of all students. The Signature Program provides opportunities for students to be engaged in the learning process with students of a similar ability level in their timetabled English and Social Science classes.  Teachers are not only highly enthusiastic but also experienced teachers with a passion for English, History and/or Geography. The Signature Program is a vehicle that prepares students for success and extends students through engagement with higher order thinking skills.

Program Structure
Signature classes will always represent the top performing students in reading.
Years 7, 8 and 9:
The Signature Program is offered across the Junior Secondary school. Students are timetabled into the English and Social Science classes of an expert Signature teacher. The Signature Teachers collaborate closely  to ensure the cohesion of the program as students transition through the Junior Secondary years of learning. The objective of the Signature program is to reinforce students’ knowledge and understanding of core concepts and to further develop their capacity to apply higher order thinking skills. All Signature students, with the support of their Signature teacher, will select a personal development project each term to foster a deeper understanding of the term’s curriculum.
The Signature Program also fosters an appreciation for community involvement and partnerships by offering the following opportunities:
Academic Workshops with the University of Queensland—St Lucia.
Robotics Competitions.
National extended writing, mathematics and science competitions.

3 Day Academic Retreat (Dependent upon expressions of interest).
