It is our school community’s belief that a school uniform is best for our students because: § It avoids the competition between students to be those dressed in the most expensive brand name clothes. § It ensures that students are dressed in clothes that are appropriate for learning activities. § It complies with Occupational Health and Safety requirements. § Students, neatly dressed in uniform, give the community a good impression of themselves and their school. § Intruders to the school can be easily identified when all others are in uniform. Please note the following: 1. Students need enough items of uniform to be properly dressed every day. 2. Students will only be permitted to represent the school in sport in the sports uniform – including green shorts with white stripes for boys. 3. The following are NOT part of the school uniform: · board shorts; · corduroy shorts; · shorts with big pockets; · silky basketball shorts; · black shorts; · shorts made of stretch fabric. Boys’ day shorts are to be dark grey, durable, non-stretch fabric, not longer than to the knee. 4. Jewellery is limited to a watch and two studs or sleepers in the ears. Nose rings, eyebrow and other facial piercing ornaments are strictly forbidden. Girls may not wear make-up. Boys must be clean shaven. Hair must be neatly groomed and kept a natural colour. 5. Every student must have a school jumper or jacket by the beginning of Term II 6. T-shirts worn under school shirts are not acceptable uniform. 7.
